HOW WE PACK FURNITURE. Our Bay Area packers and movers use high-quality moving pads, plastic stretch film, and tape to ensure proper furniture wrapping. First, we determine if we need to take apart any piece of furniture for safer transportation. Usually, all bedframes and dining tables should be disassembled. Then we cover furniture like dressers, and sofas and separate furniture pieces with moving pads. If needed we use tape to make sure that pads don't slip off. Finally, we use plastic wrap to add an additional layer of protection. In addition, plastic stretch film (also known as shrink-wrap) will cover some minor spots uncovered by pads. We do not charge extra for furniture protection - this is our standard service for all kinds of moves.

HOW WE PACK MATTRESSES. Our professional packers in the Bay Area use brand-new plastic wrap and wrap your entire mattress. If needed we use a moving pad or two on top of the plastic wrap for extra protection. Unlike mattress bags, shrink-wrapped matresses are better protected and it's easier to navigate them through stairs.

HOW WE PACK BOXES.  In most cases, we use brand-new small and medium size boxes of high quality. We try to get supplies manufactured in the US to support other domestic businesses. Then we use high-quality packing paper (also knows as newsprint paper) and here we go. In some cases, we have to use bubble wrap for extra delicate pieces. Packing is tedious and time-consuming; sometimes you may not know what to start from because you need to focus on finding a new schoold for your kids, or change mailing and billing addresses, etc. Don't worry: our professional movers and packers in the Bay Area will help you as they are experienced in packing and moving and do this work daily.

An update on my initial review a year ago. Decided to give this company another try and was absolutely thrilled. It started well with a quick response from their main office to confirm my move and work with me on my move out date as my plan changed from what I initially put in to their site. On the day itself, Mike and his teammate showed up in the time window provided. They gave me a quick text letting me know when they were 30 mins out and then a call to let me know that they arrived. They took a quick look at the apartment, formulated a plan, and listened to my suggestions on how best to optimize the move. They worked efficiently and quickly and we completed the move well within the time I anticipated. Incredibly professional throughout and I couldn't be happier. We own and operate Waldie & Assoc. Real Estate in Rio Vista. In the last couple of months we have had the need for movers for our clients. The first one was pretty straight forward and they (Route 66 people) got the customer moved to So. CA. without issue and this was not an easy move. They were great to work with and very helpful to the client. Today, I received a panicked call from another client. The movers they selected (instead of who we recommended) had bailed on them, for the second time, within a weeks time. Now they (the other movers) were not going to be able to move them until March 10 and the new owner is suppose to take occupancy in three days. My clients had tried several other companies, but this being Saturday no one was answering. I called Beck at Route 66, explained the situation and as of today they will have them packed up and on their way to Salem on Tuesday! I can't say enough good about these folks.Thanks so much to Beck and the Route 66 crew for their great customer service!

I just had a move completed by Route 66 Moving today from San Diego to the Bay Area, and this company was pleasant to work with every step of the way. Requesting a quote online was easy and Natalie (the manager?) got back to me very quickly by email or phone every time I had a question. I will say that it is very important to give a complete inventory list to receive a correct quote. After updating my inventory list from my initial estimate to the complete inventory, my quote went up about $500. I still think that the price we paid was great as we have a ton of stuff for a 1 bedroom apartment. The provided wardrobe boxes were an amazing perk and made clothes packing so much easier.
