Do you want to move but aren’t sure what to put on your to do list?

The to do list can sometimes be hard to put together, especially when they are so many things to do at once. You can easily forget about important things that need to be on there.

This is why we created the to do list for you. If you’re interested in finding out more, read on.

Research the Area Where you Plan to Move

When you’re moving out you should not forget to cancel all of your club memberships and start searching for new ones.
You can begin with:

  • Searching for new medical services for you and your pets (if you have any)
  • Find out how you can transport your pets
  • Search for new gyms and organizations similar to the ones you were a part of in the past
  • Search for a new attorney, accountant, etc.

Perhaps you’re using different services than the ones mentioned above. Put them on your to do list and make sure you find new ones in your new location.

Start Planning How you Will Move Everything

There are certain items you probably don’t need anymore. These aren’t worth the hassle of bringing them with you.

Hold a garage sale or use a storage unit until you decide what you will take with you and what remains behind.

Start by ordering boxes and packaging items that you will move. Put labels on the boxes that show where they will be moved and what they contain.

Also, don’t forget about your plants. They are quite fragile and not easy to carry around.

Talk with All of Your Service Providers

This step is quite important. Contact your electricity, gas, and internet provider to let them know you’re moving and you will no longer need their services.

Companies that are spread all over the country might make you a better offer if you stick with their company after you move too.

Also, don’t forget to call your insurance agent and speak about your move.

Prepare your Home for Moving

Don’t leave behind any dirty floors or walls, especially if the home is not yours and you paid rent.

Make sure you paint the walls, clean the floors, carpets, and furniture. Also, make sure to defrost and clean the fridge.

If you don’t have time for cleaning the whole house and taking care of everything, consider hiring a freelance maid or a company that offers temporary cleaning services.

Additionally, make sure you don’t buy much food before you leave. Cook all of your frozen meals, deflate the water mattresses and organize your clothes.

You might take some things with you, while you may leave others behind. If you aren’t comfortable with a garage sale, give Amazon or Ebay a try.
