Moving Coverage

Route66Moving is a fully licensed and insured moving company.

Please understand that there are inherent risks while moving household goods or any other physical property. You want to make sure that your belongings are covered in the event of accident or loss while they are in our hands. Even though we do our best to pack and protect your items professionally, damages or losses may happen sometimes due to the nature of moving process or acts of God. So it’s important you choose the right valuation coverage for your move.

INTERSTATE MOVES

This option is FREE and offers only minimal protection at no additional cost. Claims for loss or damage are based on the item’s weight multiplied by $0.60 per pound.
We recommend this option, as it provides the most cost effective comprehensive coverage. This coverage as well generally offers added options (deductible levels, higher coverage, etc.) As the process of initiating this option is more involved than the previous two options, it needs to be obtained at least 3 business days prior to the actual move day. Please check with your insurance agent.

With this valuation option, if any article is lost, destroyed or damaged while in our hands, we at own discretion, offer to do one of the following for each item:

  • Repair the item
  • Replace with a similar item
  • Make a cash settlement for the cost of the repair or the current market replacement value

Under this option, Olive Bull is permitted to limit its liability for loss or damage to articles of extraordinary value, unless you specifically list these articles on the shipping documents. An article of extraordinary value is any item whose value exceeds $100 per pound (such as jewelry, silverware, china, furs, antiques).

The minimum declared value of a shipment for FVP is $10,000 or $6.00 per pound of an item. FVP may be purchased at a cost of $145 per $10,000 of coverage and then with $1.45 increments per each additional $100 of coverage.With Full Value coverage, we include the option to add a deductible to the policy. The deductible options are as follows:

MOVES WITHIN CALIFORNIA

As per PUC regulations in California this coverage is included for each move free of charge. Claims for loss or damage are based on the item’s weight multiplied by $0.60 per pound.

This option provides coverage for lost or damaged items based on their actual cash value, including depreciation, at the time of the loss or damage. This coverage does not include a deductible option, and the pricing is as follows:

With this valuation option, if any article is lost, destroyed or damaged while in our hands, we will either repair or replace the item with items of like kind and quality. Or, you will get a cash settlement for the current market value of your items, regardless of their age. With Full Value coverage, we include the option to add a deductible to the policy. I can readily say these guys greatly exceeded my expectations. Talk about doing literally everything right. 1) Price- Not the bare bones cheapest quote. But VERY reasonable. In the end, it was definitely cheaper than the low ballers because Route 66 didn't nickel and dime us with crazy surcharges (we added items, a 2nd pickup and a scooter). Everything was very fair 2) Courteousness - Everyone was great to work with, super helpful and very ready to take any direction . Not much else to say on this - but I've heard horror stories from others. As customers, and talking with other companies giving me quotes, we initially thought we would need to on guard to watch out for upcharges...there was none of that and they were really cool about everything 3) Timeliness - all within the specified windows, and great communication. 4) Service - all 4 of the movers I worked were terrific and thoughtful about how they moved things and took great care at every step of the way to prevent damage and treated our stuff with respect(they also provided wrap, blankets and boxes). 5) Speed. We were given a 6 day window. But they delivered overnight (from LA to SF) All in all- can't recommend them enough. Will be making sure anyone I know looking for moving services hears about them...because I'm too good a friend to let them end up with any of those other shady outfits running around town. In the end, the only heads up I can provide is that they want to be paid upon delivery in all cash/money order/cashiers check. No personal checks and cc's are 5% processing fee. All reasonable and easy to avoid with some foresight. Big thanks to the Route 66 moving team

Moved our 1br apartment from SF to LA overnight. Our apartment had everything: nice furniture, cheap/IKEA furniture, fragile things, big & heavy things, you name it!
